Worldwide Opening of The Hateful Eight Moved Up a Week

The Hateful Eight will release globally one week early, opening on New Year's Day rather than January 8.

According to Deadline, the wide release of the 35mm and digital print versions have been pushed forward, but the special 70mm roadshow version of the film is still set to debut in theaters on Christmas Day.

There's no word on exactly how many screens the film will open on come January 1, as the decision to move its release forward was just recently made. That said, theater chains will be looking to squeeze in as many showings as possible, with the film set to broaden its reach the following week.

The Hateful Eight is directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh and many more. For a sneak peek at Tarantino's second western, check out these 8 scenes from the film.
